A large Japanese porcelain Imari charger.
Japan, early 18th century, Edo period (1603-1868).

The charger decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt enamels, the central roundel with a flower bouquet, the cavetto with rocky outcroppings, chrysanthemum, prunus and bamboo; the reverse with three sprays of plum blossom, spur marks to the base

Collection van de Wint, Franeker and thence by descent.

Dimensions:
Diameter 39.7 cm, height 6.3 cm.

Condition:
A+ perfect with very little wear to the gilding.
