A Chinese porcelain blue and white ‘Archaic’ bowl.
China, second half 18th century / early 19th century.
The bowl with slightly everted rim, decorated with a band of underglaze blue geometric motifs in archaic bronze style. Furthermore a double circle running underneath the mouth rim and a triple circle on the outer foot rim.
Provenance:
From an old Swedish collection. With original invoice from Hans Öström, Stockholm, 1942, wherein he states that this bowl is from the Kangxi period and from the collection of J. Loves London.
