A Japanese Imari barber’s bowl or shaving basin.
Japan, 18th century, Edo period (1603-1868).
Decorated in the centre with a jardinière of flowers in a fenced garden, the border with three cartouches containing landscapes against a blue background. The two drill holes at 12 o’clock are overglaze and thus original holes. The plate is equipped with an old metal wall hanging.

Formerly in the private collection of an aristocratic family in Groningen, The Netherlands.

Condition:
Perfect condition, no damages and gilding intact.
